Established in 1959, Pinney’s of Orford is a 3rd generation, family run business that specialise in producing fine quality smoked products, and growing their own Oysters on the Suffolk coast. All of the products are hand produced using traditional methods and recipes that have been passed down through the generations.

The smokehouses are still the original houses built by founder Richard Pinney during the late 1950’s, and they are located next to Butley Creek in Orford, Suffolk.

Only whole oak logs are used to produce the smoke and they remain true to the old fashioned, traditional way of flavouring and preserving, without any additional ingredients other than oak smoke and salt. Great importance is placed on the sourcing of all of the products, making sure that only premium fish in the best condition are used for smoking.

They also have two vessels, ‘Jolene’ and ‘Southern Cross’ which make day trips to bring home fresh catches of lobsters, crabs, skate, cod and soles to supply their shop and restaurant The Butley Orford Oysterage.
